Resistance in Kobanê growing every day

YPG (People’s Protection Units) Press Centre has released a statement providing information about the resistance and fighting going on in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan on the 34nd day.
Around 50 gang members were killed in the last one day of fierce clashes at four fronts and many points were recaptured from gangs. 3 YPG fighters have lost their lives in the fighting.
Remarking that the resistance by YPG/YPJ fighters along with the people of Kobanê is growing more and more every day, YPG Press Centre gave the following details about the ISIS attacks and the fighting of the last 24 hours;
“Gangs launched a new wave of attacks with reinforcements brought in from various areas. After carrying out intense mortar attacks on Kobanê town centre from early morning till evening, gangs started to attack from eastern, southeastern and northeastern sides of the town following a suicide attack with two bomb-laden vehicles yesterday evening. Strongly responding to these attacks and repulsing all of them, our forces advanced one step further after taking some areas at the town centre where gangs had been deployed.”
The statement also reported that ISIS gangs launched simultaneous attacks from the eastern and southeastern sides last night, and that their attacks have been repelled following fierce fighting that lasted till early morning. 16 gang members were ascertained killed and many others wounded here.

At the northeastern side of the town -the statement said- YPG forces captured three areas formerly occupied by the gangs, killing at least 8 members and seizing ammunition of theirs.
In the south, YPG forces carrying out a counter-attack have retaken three areas formerly captured by the gangs, and advanced one step further, killing 8 members of the gangs.
At the southwestern front, YPG forces also carried out a counter-attack, cleansing two separate areas of gangs and killing 7 members of theirs.
In the west, attacks by YPG forces targeted two deployment areas of ISIS gangs on the Minaze road, as a result of which YPG took both areas from the gangs and killed at least 5 members of theirs.
According to the statement, severe clashes took place between YPG forces and ISIS gangs in and around the village of Zorava to the west of Kobanê yesterday afternoon. Three gang members were killed in the fighting that continued till evening.
“As the Kobanê resistance continues with a great will and determination, three comrades of ours fell martry fighting for the defense of the town last night”, the statement added.

Four areas liberated from gangs in Kobanê

The Kobanê town of West Kurdistan has witnessed fierce clashes last night as ISIS gangs launched attacks from four sides. YPG/YPJ (People’s/Women’s Protection Units) repulsed all the attacks and captured four areas where gangs were deployed.
According to the information received, ISIS gangs attacked from 3 directions on the eastern front last night. At last 6 gang members were killed in clashes that erupted after YPG forces strongly responded to the attacks. Two areas of deployment were cleansed of gangs.
The second attack of the gangs was launched from the area of municipal building. More than 10 members of the gangs were killed in the fighting that broke out following a harsh response by YPG forces.
The third attack on the eastern side was carried out in the Kaniya Kurda region where YPG forces broke the wave of attacks and cleansed two areas of gangs, also seizing ammunition belonging to them.
On the southeastern front of the city, dozens of gang members were killed in violent clashes as YPG fighters responded to the gangs attempting to infiltrate to the Azadi Square.
YPG fighters also carried out actions targeting two deployment areas of the gangs at the southern front, destroying both positions and killing a number of members of the gangs.
While severe clashes are going on at the eastern front, gangs continue to launch mortar attacks on the town centre.
Saturday evening, ISIS gangs attempted two suicide attacks with bomb-laden vehicles which were however spotted and immediately destroyed by YPG fighters before the cars reached the targets, which were two separate positions of the YPG/YPJ fighters.

20 gang members killed in Serêkaniyê and Jazaa

At least 20 members of ISIS gangs were killed in the actions carried out by YPG (People’s Protection Units) in the Serêkaniyê region of West Kurdistan bordering North Kurdistan and in the Jazaa region bordering South Kurdistan.
According to the information provided by YPG Press Centre, the operation launched against ISIS gangs in the west and southwest side of the Serêkaniyê city on 11 October continues.
The statement said YPG forces destroyed a vehicle of the gangs, with militants inside it, near the Dehma region yesterday afternoon, and hit the gangs that attempted an attack in this region. 13 gang members were ascertained killed in yesterday’s clashes that lasted all day long, while fierce fighting in the area is continuing since yesterday evening.
Also giving information about clashes in Jazaa region, the statement said YPG forces carried out an action targeting the gangs between the villages of Qadisiye and Misterîha to the southeast of Jazaa, destroying a vehicle with the gang members inside it.
In another action against the gangs deployed in the Qadisiye village, YPG fighters killed 6 gang members and wounded one other.

Trench dug at Akçakale border

Construction equipment have started to dig a trench in an area close to the border crossing between Akçakale district of Urfa and Girêspi (Tal Abyad) city of Rojava, West Kurdistan, under the siege of ISIS gangs.
The digging of the trench, which is 2 metres in width and 3 in depth, has begun after wire fences were placed around the area.
Armored vehicles have taken intense security measures in the area as the construction equipment used by military staff continue the excavation on the borderline.

YPJ fighter Viyan dies in Urfa

YPJ (Women’s Protection Units) fighter Diyale Viyan has lost her life while receiving treatment at a hospital in the border province of Urfa.
YPJ fighter Viyan had been referred to Urfa through the Mürşitpınar border crossing and taken under treatment in a hospital after sustaining a critical injury in clashes with ISIS gangs in Kobanê on 6 October.
Viyan’s body has been taken to Urfa Forensic Medicine Institution where an autopsy will be performed before delivery to the morgue at Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital, as her family is yet to be reached.
