German Foreign Minister Admits NATO Mistakes in Afghanistan Campaign
...''German Foreign minister added that the US-led coalition wanted not only to eliminate the security threat posed by Afghanistan, but also to lead the country into the future matchable with the NATO's ideas...''
My Comment:
If the above statement was not immeasurably tragic and not projecting in our eyes the blood oozing from the Afghan land and recent history we would laugh at the uneducated arrogance, at the concrete ignorance of the drama-heroes involved.
Just who are they who will violently plant their interests, their concepts and their ways and means into the heart of another nation in the middle of Asia? Where from do they derive this right?Who gave it to them? Not us , not Humanity , not the Human Representatives. Why? Because simply Humanity includes , contains, involves, IS made of Human Life.Whatever does not encourage Life and does not manifest itself in actions of Harmony , Peace, Truth, Abundance, Balance , Health, is NOT Human. And Humanity will accept trespassers NO MORE.
Even if for a limited period of time some political or military interventions were to be allowed , due to some 'force majeure', or historic facts (such as post IIWW Soviets) this should only occur for this very well defined 'limited period of time' , would encompass no gains absolutely for the parties involved ,would not interfere with the local cultures, traditions and customs and would definitely have an expiration date.
Every Nation shall be free ( ie. not mind controlled-programed not manipulated etc.,) to evolve within its own territory as per their own ETHOS and ETHNOS requirements. And this is the NOW and TOMORROW Fact! m.l.p.
MOSCOW, October 12. - NATO made a number of mistakes during its Afghan campaign, though, the operation was not a failure, Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper on Sunday.
“Many things indicate that our biggest mistake has been to pin big hopes on this mission, without investing significant funds,” Steinmeier said.
German Foreign minister added that the US-led coalition wanted not only to eliminate the security threat posed by Afghanistan, but also to lead the country into the future matchable with the NATO's ideas.
“Meanwhile, drug trade is flourishing in Afghanistan, corruption is present at all levels, powerful warlords dominate certain territories and violence reigns in patches. We started to celebrate a victory over the Taliban too early,” Steinmeier added.
The minister, however, claimed the Afghan campaign has not failed, as local terrorism does not represent an international threat anymore.
About 41,000 NATO troops remain in Afghanistan to fight the Taliban insurgency alongside Afghan soldiers and police. NATO’s combat mission will end in December. On September 30, the United States, NATO and Afghanistan signed a deal to formally justify the presence of a limited military contingent in the Central Asian state after the formal withdrawal of international forces. A follow-on contingent of about 12,000 troops is likely to stay into 2015 on training and support duties.
