BRATISLAVA, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Visegrad Four countries, namely
the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, are preparing a joint
strategy for military training and exercises.
The plan is set to be discussed by the V4 defence ministers at their
next session slated to take place in Bratislava at the end of April,
confirmed Slovak Defence Minister Martin Glvac on Sunday.
"It's during the Slovak V4 presidency that the drafting of the V4
Defence Cooperation Action Plan is pending, its approval is planned for
the Bratislava session," said Glvac.
Glvac pointed out that the countries have been cooperating long term
in the sphere of training and exercises, such as in the Ground Pepper
exercise.
"What's important, however, is to define clearly how often and to
what extent we want to organise similar exercises," stressed Glvac.
Also to be broached in Bratislava is the progress in the creation of
the V4 battle group, due to be put on standby in the first half of 2016,
and the meeting of commitments stemming from the NATO Summit in Wales,
particularly the Preparedness Action Plan.
