Microbrewery MN Brew together with researchers from the University of Lucerne produced a new beer - Deeper (Deeper). Artificial intelligence took part in the creation of the recipe - it happened for the first time in the history of brewing in Switzerland.
This was reported by the Swiss newspaper 24 Heures.
"Beer is still brewed by people, but the new recipe was created by artificial intelligence" Brauer AI "(pronounced as" Brauerei "- a beer restaurant in French)," - said in a statement.
So to create a new variety of beer, scientists at the University of Lausanne have developed a program "Brauer AI", which operates on the basis of artificial intelligence. She needs to specify the type of beer, after which she analyzes the international database of beer recipes, finds patterns in them and derives a new recipe based on them.
Brauer AI has created Deeper, a new beer based on one of the most popular craft beer styles in the United States, Indian Pale Ale. It is characterized by hops and a slight bitter taste. In the artificial intelligence recipe, citrus notes were added to the classic recipe.
According to the developers, the dipper turned out delicious, with a rich taste. They argue that the use of artificial intelligence in brewing is not aimed at ousting people from the industry. This will only help to diversify recipes and speed up the work of brewers.
