SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "Certainly, I do not have a universal solution for the current problems in the world and Russian economics. But it is possible to try somehow to influence the situation, including the hydrocarbons market."
SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "Last year was really difficult, maybe even the most difficult in the last decade. Our economy has never faced before such powerful and simultaneous challenges as the sharp drop in oil prices, sanctions pressure, and the incipient changing of the whole paradigm of the world economy."
SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "We have secured the ground for the macroeconomic stability. Accumulated reserves have allowed us to balance the federal budget for the current year. But if oil prices continue to fall, the parameters of the budget should be clarified. It must be understood and it is necessary to prepare for the worst case scenario as other countries do."
SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "We are ready to recover normal cooperation with countries of the European Union. Europe is our closest neighbour as well as important economic partner. Our turnover still amounts to the hundreds of billions of euros, despite the regrettable factor of the sanctions."
SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "Whatever difficulties our economy may experience, we have reserves, desire and will to overcome them. We used to get over the most difficult, the most hopeless situations and came out from them as winners. It will be this way now. Thank you and good luck to everyone."
