GrecoRussian FM meeting in Moscow hints at Russian help if Greece requests it
Greece and Russia have cultural, religious and historical ties that bind the two countries, but that’s not all the foreign ministers from both countries discussed in Moscow on Wednesday
Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Kotzias, during his meeting with Sergey Lavrov, expressed his worries of a destabilization of Europe. He stated that Greece is at the center of this possibility of destabilization and clarified that the country wants to explain to its partners that all problems must be solved through diplomacy and negotiations or a humanitarian crisis will arise.
He also expressed his gratitude to Russia for its stable support towards Cyprus, underlining that “our relationship with Russia is one of honest friendship”.
The Russian Foreign Affairs Minister underlined, inter alia, that Greece’s position in European-Russian relations is appreciated, while he also expressed his support, stating that Russia will examine any request of help by Greece to Russia, if such is tabled.
