Kerala Flood Relief by Sri Sathya Sai Organisation - 2018 | Sai Service at Kerala

The state of Kerala has been going through a tough and challenging time. The state witnessed it’s worst flood ever in close to a century. The Sai Organisation sprung into action and reached out to those in need under the leadership of the Kerala Organisation.
The seva activities were divided into three phases – Rescue, Relief and Rehabilitation.
The Disaster Management team sprung into action in all flood-affected areas.
The team from Tamil Nadu took no time to join the rescue operations. Working alongside the rescue team from Indian Navy and Army, they could rescue about 1600 people who were stranded in remote areas.
Relief activities started alongside rescue operations. Cooked food was distributed in many relief camps and flood-affected colonies. Then came the distribution of relief kits. ‘Sri Sathya Sai Prema Dhara kits’ consisting groceries, packed food, utensils, stoves, clothes, drinking water and infant food, ‘She-kits’ with women hygiene products and ‘school kits’ with a school bag, stationery items, water bottles and lunch boxes.
The medical camps are now underway as relief work continues. It is proposed to conduct camps in various places in the state over the next few months.
Apart from this extensive sanitation work was carried out at homes, temples, schools and public places.
