The ascended master Hilarion, the Chohan,1 or Lord, of the Fifth Ray of Science, Healing and Truth, holds a world balance for truth from his etheric retreat, known as the Temple of Truth, over the island of Crete. The island was an historic focal point for the Oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece.We know few of this master’s incarnations, but the three most prominent are as the High Priest of the Temple of Truth on Atlantis; then as Paul, beloved apostle of Jesus; and as Hilarion, the great saint and healer, performer of miracles, who founded monasticism in Palestine. Embodied as Saul of Tarsus during the rise of Jesus’ popularity, Saul became a determined persecutor of Christians, originally seeing them as a rebellious faction and a danger to the government and society. Paul did not ascend in that life due to his torturing of Christians earlier in that embodiment. In his very next lifetime, Paul was born to pagan parents in 290 A.D. They resided in the same geographical region in which he had lived as Paul in his previous lifetime. As a young boy, Hilarion was sent to Alexandria to study. During this time of study, he heard the gospel and was converted to Christianity.His greatest desire was to be a hermit—to spend his time fasting and praying to God in seclusion. So he divided his fortune among the poor and set out for the desert near Gaza. He spent twenty years in prayer in the desert before he performed his first miracle. God, through him, cured a woman of barrenness. And his healing ministry began.Soon Hilarion was sought out by hundreds who had heard of his miraculous cures and ability to exorcise demons. In 329 A.D., with a growing number of disciples assembling around him, he fled to Egypt to escape the constant flow of people seeking to be healed from all manner of diseases. His travels brought him to Alexandria again, to the Libyan Desert and to Sicily.But his miracles did not only include healings. Once when a seacoast town in which he was staying was threatened with a violent storm, he etched three signs of the cross into the sand at his feet then stood with hands raised toward the oncoming waves and held the sea at bay.Hilarion spent his last years in a lonely cave on Cyprus. He was canonized by the Catholic Church and is today known as the founder of the anchorite life, having originated in Palestine. Και όπως κάθε επαρχιώτης, όταν πάρει μια γεύση από τον κόσμο, γίνεται νεόπλουτος. Δεν μπορεί να διαχειριστεί το καινούργιο, τη γνώση, την εξουσία. Αρπάζει και καταβροχθίζει ό,τι βρει μπροστά του, σαν να μην υπάρχει αύριο. Δεν μπορεί να στρέψει το βλέμμα στο αύριο, στο μακροπρόθεσμο, στο παραπέρα..."

Κάθε νέα κάθε πληροφορία που αμφισβητεί την παγιωμένη του άποψη τον ταράζει
Ο πνευματικός επαρχιωτισμός (που οδηγεί στο φασισμό) και η πνευματική νωθρότητα δεν είναι το ίδιο πράγμα, αλλά έχουν κοινό αποτέλεσμα και σχετίζονται με διπλή συνεπαγωγή (το ένα συνεπάγεται το άλλο και τούμπαλιν). Ο πνευματικά νωθρός, οδηγείται με βεβαιότητα σε φασιστικού τύπου προσεγγίσεις.

Η άποψή του επιβεβαιώνεται διαρκώς επειδή δεν αλλάζει οπτική γωνία, και (όπως όλοι μας) βασίζει την επιβίωσή του πάνω στην άποψη αυτή.* Προφανώς κάθε νέα κάθε πληροφορία που αμφισβητεί την παγιωμένη του άποψη τον ταράζει, τον φοβίζει, τον θυμώνει. Προφανώς θέλει να επιβάλλει την άποψή του – δεν ξέρει άλλες απόψεις και δεν ξέρει αν αυτές επαληθεύονται σε ένα άλλο σύστημα θέασης. Και δεν θέλει (δεν έχει μάθει) να ζει σε έναν κόσμο όπου γενικές απόψεις δεν επαληθεύονται.
Όσο πιο λίγα πράγματα γνωρίζει, τόσο μεγαλύτερη είναι η βεβαιότητά του για την ορθότητά τους, τόσο πιο ασφαλής αισθάνεται μέσα σε αυτά.
Ο πνευματικά νωθρός δεν έχει μάθει και δεν δύναται να αντέξει τη δυσάρεστη εμπειρία του να αμφισβητούνται οι γνώσεις και οι απόψεις του. Όλοι μας έχουμε επενδύσει χρόνο και ενέργεια και χρήμα για να μορφωθούμε και για κανέναν δεν είναι ευχάριστο να μαθαίνει πως όσα ξέρει δεν ισχύουν πια ή δεν ίσχυαν ποτέ, ή ότι είναι το αποτέλεσμα μιας μόνο άποψης περί ενός επιστημονικού θέματος, ένα μικρό κομμάτι του συνολικού γνωστικού πεδίου. Ο ερευνητής που ενημερώνεται κάθε μέρα για νέες ανακαλύψεις, αλλά και κάθε άνθρωπος που δεν είναι πνευματικά νωθρός, έχει συνηθίσει το να θεωρούνται οι γνώσεις και οι βεβαιότητές του παρωχημένες κάθε τόσο, έχει συμφιλιωθεί με την ιδέα πως δεν μπορεί να κατακτήσει συνολικά τη γνώση και έχει μάθει πως βεβαιότητα δεν υπάρχει.
Αποδέχεται να ζει σε έναν κόσμο που του είναι άγνωστος και μαθαίνει να διαχειρίζεται τις αβεβαιότητές του πιο καλά από όσο διαχειρίζεται τις βέβαιες γνώσεις του. Γι αυτό άλλωστε για τους λάτρεις της Λογικής είναι συναρπαστικό το να κάνουμε μαθηματική μοντελοποίηση ενός πρωτοεμφανιζόμενου προβλήματος, αλλά there is no challenge in doing the (known) maths, μόλις αυτό διατυπώνεται σε όρους γνωστούς (αλγεβρικούς εν προκειμένω).
* Εδώ ως άποψη, εννοώ κυριολεκτικά αυτό το οποίο βλέπουμε. Και αυτό που βλέπουμε δεν είναι ο κόσμος, αλλά μια αναπαράσταση του κόσμου, μια αποτύπωση της πραγματικότητας, μια προβολή της στο δικό μας κάδρο. Και όσο συμφωνώ με την ιδέα πως η πραγματικότητα αναπαρίσταται αλλά και ταυτόχρονα διαμορφώνεται από τις ίδιες της τις αναπαραστάσεις και τις ερμηνειες αυτών, άλλο τόσο διαφωνώ με την ιδέα πως η πραγματικότητα δεν υφίσταται έξω από το υποκείμενο που τη μελετά. Ο κώνος είναι κώνος, regardless of your point of view. Είναι αληθινή η σφαιρική προβολή του αλλά η γνώση μας έρχεται όλο και πιο κοντά στην πραγματική του φύση, όσο επιδιώκουμε διαφορετικές προβολές του.

Όταν γράφω για τον Τσίπρα ότι πάσχει από πολιτικό επαρχιωτισμό και όταν γράφω για κάποιον ότι είναι επαρχιώτης, δεν εννοώ ότι γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στην επαρχία.

Εννοώ ότι ζει σε έναν πολύ περιορισμένο από πλευράς εύρους και ερεθισμάτων μικρόκοσμο, που δεν αλληλεπιδρά με άλλους μικροκόσμους. Ότι έχει αναπτύξει ένα mindset, μέσα σε ένα στεγανό περιβάλλον όπου αυτό δεν έχει αμφισβητηθεί / εμπλουτιστεί / διαφοροποιηθεί και συνδιαμορφωθεί με άλλες νοοτροπίες. Η άποψή του για τα πράγματα είναι φτωχή, γιατί αποκρυσταλλώθηκε προτού διαμορφωθεί πολύπλευρα, γιατί δεν θέλησε, δεν μπόρεσε ή δεν έμαθε να αλλάζει την οπτική του γωνία. Γιατί τον κώνο θα τον βλέπει πάντα ως τρίγωνο, αν δεν μετακινηθεί σε άλλο πνευματικό τόπο, από όπου φαίνεται ως σφαίρα. Δεν διανοείται το πλευρικό βάθος, την άλλη διάσταση, γιατί δεν έχει σχετικά βιώματα.
Και καθώς δεν αλλάζει σκοπιές, δεν αμφισβητεί ποτέ τις απόψεις του – γιατί στο μικρόκοσμό του αυτές ίσως επαληθεύονται. Και αν δεν επαληθεύονται και στον υπόλοιπο κόσμο, συμπεραίνει ότι ο υπόλοιπος κόσμος είναι ένα λάθος.
Ο επαρχιώτης δεν αλλάζει γνώμη, γι αυτό και επιδιώκει να μένει μια ζωή στον τόπο του, εκεί όπου ξέρει “πώς έχουν τα πράγματα”, ξέρει πώς να επιβιώνει, εκεί όπου οι ιδέες του και οι συλλογισμοί του έχουν νόημα. Και είναι τοπικιστής από ανάγκη, γιατί δεν έχει άλλο βιώσιμο χώρο πλην του μικρόκοσμού του.
Γιατί να οραματίζεται κάποιος σαν τον Τσίπρα μια σύγχρονη, ανταγωνιστική, παγκοσμιοποιημένη Ελλάδα, αφού ο ίδιος δεν θα μπορούσε να επιβιώσει μέσα σε αυτή;
