Merry Christmas !

Chania. The Divine Night Liturgy of Christmas 2017 in the great chamber of Marathokefala Cave. 

Despite the bitter cold, thousands of worshipers from all over Crete are believed to have participated in the Night Divine Liturgy that celebrated  Little Christ's Birth, Sunday night, at the St. John the Hermit Cave in Marathokefala of the Spilia Parish, the Metropolis of Kissamos and Selino, in Kissamos.

«Χριστός ετέχθη» στο σπήλαιο της Μαραθοκεφάλας

Παρά το τσουχτερό κρύο, χιλιάδες πιστοί απ΄ όλη την Κρήτη υπολογίζεται ότι μετείχαν στην Νυκτερινή Θεία Λειτουργία που τελέστηκε το βράδυ της Κυριακής, παραμονή των Χριστουγέννων στο αγιοβάδιστο σπήλαιο του Αγίου Ιωάννη του Ερημίτη στην Μαραθοκεφάλα της Ενορίας Σπηλιάς, της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Κισάμου και Σελίνου, στην Κίσαμο
.
Η Χριστουγεννιάτικη Νυκτερινή Θεία Λειτουργία, στο σπήλαιο της Μαραθοκεφάλας σε συνδυασμό με την αναπαράσταση της φάτνης όπου γεννήθηκε ο Χριστός, με πρόβατα, βοσκούς, φωτιές, σήμαντρα και το αστέρι να λάμπει στην κορυφή της σπηλιάς, μετέφεραν όλους μας στην Βηθλεέμ, με την ευχή και την ελπίδα αυτά τα Χριστούγεννα να οδηγηθούμε και στην Βηθλεέμ της σωτηρίας μας.

The Christmas Night Divine Liturgy, in the cave of Marathokefala, combined with the representation of the Manger where Jesus was born, with sheep, shepherds, fires, bells and the star shining on the top of the cave, carried us all to Bethlehem, in  the hope that this Christmas will shall All be brought to The Bethlehem of our Salvation!
