Belgian MPs to consider resolution on lifting EU sanctions against Russia
Belgian
opposition party Parti Populaire has proposed a resolution that would
call on the country’s government to pressure EU authorities to lift
anti-Russian economic sanctions. The parliament’s Foreign Relations
Commission is to review it in October, party MP Aldo Carcassi, who
penned the document, told Ria Novosti. The resolution states that the
sanctions, which were imposed in 2014 and renewed several times since
then, are hurting Belgian businesses.
