Η τελετή έναρξης των πρώτων Ευρωπαϊκών
Αγώνων, που έγιναν το καλοκαίρι του 2015 στο Μπακού από τον Δημήτρη
Παπαϊωάννου, καθήλωσαν εκατομμύρια θεατών σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο και του
χάρισαν έξι υποψηφιότητες στα φετινά βραβεία Emmy.
Η τελετή στο Μπακού με τον τίτλο
«Origins» συνδύασε την υψηλή αισθητική με την πλέον σύγχρονη τεχνολογία,
οργανώνοντας μια μοναδική ιστορική αφήγηση της χώρας.

Οι υποψηφιότητες
Όπως μεταδίδει το ΑΠΕ – ΜΠΕ,στην
κατηγορία «Σκηνοθεσία» (outstanding directing special class) υποψήφιοι
είναι ο Δημήτρης Παπαϊωάννου και ο Greg Breakell, με τους Τίνα
Παπανικολάου και Louise Story να ακολουθούν ως βοηθοί σκηνοθέτη.
Για την καλλιτεχνική διεύθυνση και τα
σκηνικά (outstanding art direction / set decoration / scenic design), το
βραβείο διεκδικούν οι Δημήτρης Παπαϊωάννου και Θανάσης Ντεμίρης
(σκηνική διεύθυνση) και οι Michael Curry (art director) και Nicholas
Mahon (σχεδιασμός σκηνικών).
Για την πρωτότυπη μουσική σύνθεση που
«έντυσε» την τελετή έναρξης ανάμεσα στους υποψήφιους βρίσκονται οι
Θεόδωρος Κουρεντζής και Βαγγελίνο Κουρεντζής (Outstanding Music
Direction and Composition).
Οι Robert Dickinson και Travis Hagenbuch
(σχεδιασμός φωτισμών) και οι Charles Dabezies και Ted Wells (διεύθυνση
φωτισμών) είναι υποψήφιοι στην κατηγορία «Outstanding Lighting
Direction».
Ο Άγγελος Μεντής και η Yashi (σχεδιασμός
κοστουμιών) και η Paula Ryan (υπεύθυνη κοστουμιών) είναι υποψήφιοι στην
κατηγορία «Outstanding Costume Design / Styling».
Το «Origins» είναι ακόμη υποψήφιο για τη
ζωντανή και ηχογραφημένη μίξη ήχου (outstanding live and direct to tape
sound mixing) με το βραβείο να διεκδικούν οι Cristian Kaestner, Paul
Koemans, Richard Sharrat, Dino Suceska, Scott Willsallen καθώς και ο
Justin Arthur

orchestral scores by Azerbaijan’s great composers GARA GARAYEV and FIKRET AMIROV
and the theme from the traditional song SARI GELIN
this is the story of an epic wedding of FEMALE and MALE forces
the perfect alignment of the MOON and SUN to create an ECLIPSE
like the one seen over EUROPE on the first day of Novruz in 2015
