Black smoke can be seen billowing above Japan's Haneda airport.
Images appearing on social media show huge palls of black smoke billowing up into the skies over the international airport in Tokyo.
Japanese media were reporting that the fire broke out 1 kilometre from Haneda's international terminal at a facility believed to be owned by Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation.

Haneda is the second busiest airport in Asia and the fourth busiest in the world.
The blaze comes hours after a blast ripped through a warehouse at a US military post near Tokyo, sending sparks shooting into the sky and triggering a blaze that burned through the night.
"We do not know any details at this point," a police spokesman said when asked if there was any connection.
