New 5.1 magnitude aftershock hits Nepal as death toll grows

NEW DELHI, April 27. /TASS/. New aftershock measuring magnitude 5.1 has been registered in Nepal, India’s meteorological department told TASS on Monday.
The epicenter was on the border between Nepal and India. The tremor was also felt at in the eastern and north-eastern Indian states.
A devastating 7.9 magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal on Saturday. According to the Nepalese police headquarters, a total of 3,733 people have been killed and 7,002 have been injured.
Some 1,914 houses have been completely destroyed and at least 4,184 houses have been damaged.
At least 50 aftershocks with a magnitude ranging from 3.5 to 6.9 were registered over two days after the earthquake.
The tremors were also felt in India where more than 70 people have died and another 250 people have been injured, and also in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
