Dragasakis: “During negotiations, we were lead to blackmail”
“You either agree to sign a new memorandum or you go bankrupt”, was the lender’s message according to Mr. Dragasakis
In his speech at the SYRIZA Central Committee meeting the Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis referred on the Prime Minister’s earlier statement ““Lenders plan is and always has been to lead our government to wear, subversion or to an unconditional surrender on memorandum cheques”.
Mr. Dragasakis stated that “During negotiations, we were lead to blackmail”, and that the lenders gave an ultimatum which was, “You either agree to sign a new memorandum or you go bankrupt”.
The transitional deal is a propellant compromise. We managed to gain time. We are not compromising our strategic goals. The big deal is ahead, stressed the Deputy Prime Minister
