Japan will also continue talks aimed at concluding a peace treaty with Russia, the prime minister said.
On September 26, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters that it was not ruled out that the Russian and Japanese leaders would meet during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China in mid-November. When asked when the Russian president may visit Japan, Ushakov said the date for the visit was not discussed yet through diplomatic channels.
