Peter Phillips, Professor of Political Sociology at Sonoma State University since 1994, former Director of Project Censored 1996 to 2010 and President of Media Freedom Foundation 2003 to 2017. He joins the show to discuss his latest research and book "Giants, The Global Power Elite". The work focuses on who actually controls the world's money and power; which companies and organizations. He distinguishes between informal fraternity organizations such as the Bohemians and formal organizations that actually wield very serious powers such as the Group of 30 (or G30) whose recommendations are viewed as practical mandates on financial policy. The research compiled to truly understand the global power structure is very useful to understanding how the world works today regardless of your individual political leanings.
