For years, actor and former child star Corey
Feldman has been warning anybody who would listen that Hollywood is a
place where adults have more inappropriate contact with children than
probably anywhere else in the world.
So it’s unsurprising given the renewed focus on sexual assault and
harassment brought about by the Harvey Weinstein scandal that Feldman’s
accusations would receive renewed attention, considering he made the
media rounds as recently as 2016 to talk about how a pedophile ring in
Hollywood abused him and his friend, fellow actor Corey Haim – actions
Feldman blames for Haim’s eventual death from a drug overdose.

And yesterday, he returned to the “Today” show and, during an
interview with Matt Lauer vowed to release the names of six men who he
alleges participated in the abuse of himself, Haim and other young
stars. The interview followed Feldman’s announcement in a YouTube video
last week that he was launching an Indiegogo page to try and raise money
for a feature film about pedophilia in Hollywood that he hopes to
direct. However, as Lauer pointed out, Feldman’s target budget - $10
million – appears lofty. But the former child star appears determined to
tell his story the way he wants it to be told.
Here's an excerpt from his interview:
LAUER: “Why are you talking to me? Why aren’t you talking to the police right now?”
FELDMAN: “I told the police. In fact if anyone wants to go back to 1993, when I was interviewed by the Santa Barbara Police Department. I
sat there and gave them the names. They are on record. They have all of
this information, but they were scanning Michael Jackson. All they
cared about was trying about to find something on Michael Jackson.”
LAUER: “Who you said, by the way, did not abuse you.”
FELDMAN: “Who Michael was innocent. And that was what the interview
was about with the pollice in 1993. I told them, he is not that guy. And
they said, maybe you don’t understand your friend. And I said, no, I
know the difference between pedophiles and somebody that is not a
pedophile because I have been molested. Here’s the names, go
investigate. And let me push this forward, there are thousands of people
in Hollywood that have the same information. Why is it all on me? Why
is it, if I don’t release the names in the next two months, six months
or a year, I’m the bad guy. I’m the victim here. I’m the one who has
been abused. I’m the one who is trying to come forward and do something
about it.”
LAUER: “But —“ [crosstalk]
FELDMAN: “Please, I’m sorry. There are thousands of people out there,
Matt, who have this information. Any one of those child actors that
went to the teenage soda pop clubs with me when I was a kid, know who
those people are and the people who ran it. Anybody can go back through
history and look at the Teen magazines and say what was the name of that
venue they were promoting and who ran that venue own who endorsed it.” LAUER: “You said you have death threats because you have this information.” FELDMAN: “Yes.”
LAUER: “And have threatened to expose it. Another reason I think to go to police. That’s a crime to threaten someone’s life.”
FELDMAN: “I’ve gone to the police with that, as well.”
LAUER: “And what would be wrong about going to the police now again? Didn’t work out in Santa Barbara.”
FELDMAN: “There’s a statute of limitations, Matt, in the state of
Claifornia which protects people. It’s not that way in New York. It’s
that way only where the movie industry is, conveniently enough in
California. That’s the seriousness of this. You cannot. Because if I
were to go to the police, I would be he one who’s getting sued.
Henceforth, I need a team of lawyers and I need a team of security to be
around me at all times, to keep me safe so I can get this message
done.”
LAUER: “Really, really quickly.” FELDMAN: “I’m not playing around. It’s serious stuff. I
vow I will release every name that I have any knowledge of, period. And
nobody’s going to stop me this time, as long as people support this.”

New demolitions of Greek properties as Albania is playing with fire!
Himara
is under siege since Tuesday morning. The Albanian government, under
Prime Minister Edi Rama, has sent strong police forces to guard the
provocative demolitions of properties that belong to members of the
indigenous Greek minority of the country, in defiance of the recent
court orders that have put a halt on all such actions.
The court decision blocked the controversial plan to rebuilt the city
of Himara. However, in a surprise move, the authorities moved in and
demolished a gas station of a member of the Greek minority, arguing that
it was not included in the court order, hence it was not being
protected by it. The police forces also arrested the owner of the gas
station.
The atmosphere is tense and there are strong reactions on behalf of
the Greeks of Himara, as they are being deliberately targeted by the
government under the pretext of the reconstruction project, in an
attempt to change the demographics of the area and drive away the Greek
indigenous populations of the southern part of the Albania, an area also
known as Northern Epirus.
The Greek embassy in Tirana, as well as the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, have been informed.
This development is going to further deteriorate the already bad
relations between the two countries, as Greece has made it clear that
the future stance of Athens towards the European future Albania is
directly connected with the way the Albanian government is treating the
Greek minority of the country and that Tirana are sabotaging their
possibility of becoming a member of the EU.
As these warnings didn’t alter the way Albania treats the Greek
minority, the relations between the two countries are heading fast to a
dangerous dead-end.

An exact date for the disaster has not been provided, but it comes
shortly after North Korea conducted its most powerful underground
nuclear test at the site
As
many as 200 North Korean labourers have been killed after a mine shaft
being dug at the regime’s nuclear test site collapsed, according to
Japan’s Asahi TV.
Sources in North Korea told the news channel that a tunnel being
excavated by around 100 workers at the Punggye-ri test site collapsed
earlier this month.
An additional 100 labourers sent to rescue their colleagues were reportedly killed when the tunnel suffered a second collapse.
An exact date for the disaster has not been provided, but it comes
shortly after North Korea conducted its sixth – and most powerful –
underground nuclear test at the site.
North Korea claims the September 3 test beneath Mount Mantap was of a
hydrogen bomb, with monitors suggesting the detonation was equivalent
to an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale.
Some analysts put the yield of the weapon as high as 280 kilotons,
while seismologists picked up signs of underground collapses in the
hours and days after the blast.
Satellite images of the Punngye-ri site taken immediately after the
test revealed significant damage to surface features, including
landslips.

On October 17, a study published by the US-Korea Institute at Johns
Hopkins University and published on the 38 North web site suggested the
sixth underground test at the site had caused “substantial damage to the
existing tunnel network under Mount Mantap”.
It added that there is a possibility that the site is suffering
“Tired mountain syndrome”, although there were no indications that it
was being abandoned for future nuclear tests.
Nam Jae-chol, the head of South Korea’s Meteorological
Administration, warned in testimony before parliament on Monday that
further tests at Punggye-ri could cause the mountain to collapse and
release radioactivity into the environment.
“Based on our analysis of satellite imagery, we judge that there is a
hollow space, which measures about 60 metres by 100 metres beneath
Mount Matap”, he said. “Should another nuclear test take place, there is
a possibility [of a collapse]”.
Chinese scientists have issued similar warnings, suggesting that
nuclear fallout could spread across “an entire hemisphere” if the

Mattis Claims US Military Force Authorizations Must Not Have Geographic Limits

The
US Secretary of Defense has said that the new military force
authorization should not be geographically constrained because the
United States is facing a transnational enemy.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — New US military authorization powers must not be geographically
or time constrained in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis
said during a Senate hearing on Authorization for the Use of Military
Force.
"Any new AUMF must not be time restricted,
for example President Trump's South Asia strategy is conditions based,
not time based because war is fundamentally unpredictable," Mattis said
on Monday. "We cannot put a firm timeline on conflict against an
adaptive enemy."
He also said the authority should not be geographically constrained
because the United States is facing a transnational enemy that does not
place geographical limits on its areas of operations. The 2001 and 2002
AUMF amendments should not be repealed and are a "sound basis"
for current military operations, he added.
The same countries that cheered when Yugoslavia and the Soviet
Union broke up and insisted on ‘independent Kosovo’ now say Catalonia’s
declaration of independence is unacceptable. But they wrote the rules
the Catalans are now following.
On Friday, the Catalan parliament declared independence
from Spain. Madrid has refused to recognize the declaration. Anything
can happen next, from a negotiated settlement of some kind to a civil
war.
Tempting as it is to delve into the arguments of who is right
and what should be done, this will not be an attempt to judge the
legitimacy of Catalonia’s independence pitch or lack thereof. What I
find interesting is the noise emanating from the capitals whose actions
have enabled the crisis to arise in the first place ‒ not that they’ll
ever admit it.
France, Britain, and Germany have come out against
Catalan independence and in favor of Spain’s territorial integrity. So
has Washington, with the State Department declaring “Catalonia is an integral part of Spain.”
NATO, of which Spain is a member, declared that “The Catalonia issue is a domestic matter which should be resolved within Spain’s constitutional order.”
How markedly different from 1999, when all these countries decided Kosovo was not a “domestic matter” or “integral part” of Serbia and took part in NATO’s illegal, illegitimate war
to ensure its separation! Or 2008, when the ethnic Albanian provisional
government in that occupied Serbian province declared independence, and
all of these countries immediately recognized it ‒ and pressured others
to do so as well.
Russia is commemorating the victims of political persecution in
the former Soviet Union, particularly, the Stalinist repressions.
Unveiling a new memorial on its national Day of Mourning, President
Vladimir Putin said nothing can justify such actions of a government.
The
30-meter-long “Wall of Grief” memorial was presented in Moscow’s center
Monday. Stone fragments collected throughout Russia, at sites where
prison camps of the infamous GULAG system operated under Joseph Stalin,
form part of the sculpture’s design. President Putin recalled that under the system of state terror during Stalin’s rule, “any person could face made-up and absolutely absurd charges.”
“Millions of people were branded as enemies of the people,
were executed or crippled, underwent torture in prisons and forced
deportations,” he said. “This terrible past cannot be erased
from the national memory. And certainly cannot be justified by whatever
imaginary greater good of the people.”Putin was clear that
unlike some other episodes in Russia’s past, which are subject to
controversy and heated public discourse, Stalin’s terror is not
something that’s up for debate. “It was about death and
suffering of millions. One should only visit… mass graves of the
victims, which are many in Russia, to realize that there is no
justification for those crimes,” he said. “The
persecution campaign was a tragedy for our people, our society, a
ruthless blow to our culture, roots and identity. We can feel the
consequences now and our duty is not to allow it to be forgotten.”
The
memorial was co-funded by the government and donations from the public.
The GULAG museum announced a tender for the project last year, with
sculptor Georgy Frangulyan’s creation picked from more than 330 designs.
Russian genetic material is being harvested all over the
country, purposefully and professionally, President Vladimir Putin has
said, possibly hinting at the US Air Force's earlier move to acquire
Russian tissue samples.
Putin
was presiding over a meeting of Russia’s Human Rights Council Monday,
when he was informed of live broadcasts from polling stations during the
recent regional elections being inundated with foreign viewers.
Council
member Igor Borisov said the statistics showed that nearly a million
views came from abroad. He hinted at a sinister motive behind those
viewings.
“The question is, why so many interested people are
watching our elections and, in fact, recording the images of people, and
how those images will be used further,” queried Borisov, who is also the chairman of the Russian Public Institute of Electoral Rights.
While
his skepticism might be enough to set some conspiracy theorists on
edge, Putin followed up with comments that will perhaps push them over. “Images
are one thing, but do you know that biological material is being
collected all over the country, from different ethnic groups and people
living in different geographical regions of the Russian Federation? The
question is – why is it being done? It's being done purposefully and
professionally. We are a kind of object of great interest,” Putin told the Council.
He never specified who was behind the shady dealings in Russians' biological samples.
While the Russian president's claims may sound like the stuff from X-Files, it’s actually grounded in fact.
In
July, the US Air Force Air Education and Training Command issued a
tender on a US government website seeking to acquire samples of
ribonucleic acid (RNA) and synovial fluid from Russians.
The
listing specified that the samples – 12 of RNA and 27 of synovial fluid –
must be provided by Russian donors of Caucasian origin. It also wants
information on the donor’s sex, age, ethnicity, weight, height and
medical history. Notably, the Air Force said, it would not consider
tissue samples from Ukraine.
Classifieds website BackPage, which stands accused of
facilitating child prostitution in the US, is publishing explicit sex
ads in Britain. RT found hundreds of listings touting young-looking
girls alongside descriptions including “sweet young tight pink p****,”
“little English doll” and “pure innocence.”
BackPage.com has faced numerous civil and criminal court cases in the US, and has been investigated by the Senate for its “knowing facilitation” of underage trafficking. Codewords such as “young,” “teen,” “Lolita,” “fresh,” “Amber Alert” and “new in town”
- all believed to indicate children are for sale - were routinely
deleted from ads by website administrators before being published in a
bid to avoid the attention of law enforcement, the Senate investigation
found.
Despite BackPage being forced to shut down its “escort” section in the US this year, it is still very much up and running in the UK. Thousands of listings are posted every week.
All of the codewords, except “Amber Alert,” appear regularly on the UK version of the site. Listings include: “Young,
sweet and naughty Lolita in Paddington!” “Come and play with Lolita,”
“Adventurous teen in Marylebone,” “Young school girl” and “100 percent young.”
When
RT asked Bharti Patel, the CEO of global anti-child trafficking
organization Ecpat, whether it was possible that British children were
being sold for sex on BackPage UK, she said: “I think if you look, you will find it.”
Every
BackPage ad includes a requirement that the age of the person selling
sex is listed, with most claiming to be in their 20s. “Often it says the child is not a child. The child is made to look like an adult,” Patel says.
It is possible not only physical contact with children that is being sold, Patel says, but a “new and remote form of sexual exploitation” where underage girls and boys are directed to do sexual things in front of a webcam. “I
think little children are told: ‘There’s no contact here. Somebody on
the other side will talk to you, will ask you to do different things,
but there is no contact.’ So this is the way the child is often
convinced and allows himself or herself to be used in this way.”
A look at BackPage UK’s “phones & websites” section reveals listings that include the keywords “cute girl” and “Just 18 Barely Legal - Hardcore Phone Sex.”
Patel says the true scale of child exploitation online is unknown. “Everyone
knows it is a problem, but how big of a problem is still anyone’s
guess. There is still a lot to understand about this. There is a new and
remote form of sexual exploitation [happening]. The access to the
internet has an exponential growth - its reach is huge. It is
boundless.”
Patel has been vocal in pushing for tighter regulation of
online platforms, including social-media sites where perpetrators are
increasingly finding their victims. “The government shouldn’t shy
away from looking at how a very strict regulation can help. Regulation
where if they are not complied with, there can be some very, very heavy
sanctions to the point of closing down various websites.”
In a statement to RT, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said it “would not comment or confirm whether we are investigating a specific website or not.” “We
are alive to the threat from those who seek to use the internet and
other online technology to facilitate child exploitation, and work with
partners in the UK and overseas to pursue offender and safeguard
potential victims,” a spokesperson said.
According to
America’s National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, about 70
percent of the 10,000 trafficked children recorded in the US go through
BackPage.com.
The multi-million dollar site has avoided criminal
liability in America as it is not legally responsible for any
third-party content published, and has accused critics of
unconstitutional censorship. This month, BackPage settled out of court
with three claimants who say they had been pimped out on the site aged

BackPage’s
Chief Executive Carl Ferrer is facing several charges of pimping and
human trafficking in the US. Ferrer has denied any wrongdoing.
